Beautiful, no frills, family-owned and operated schooner

Beautiful schooner, friendly crew, lovely Fall weather but quite a disappointing cruise. There was very little wind in the harbor, no ones fault, but the captain made no effort to motor outside the harbor to find any. So all we did was drift along with full sail set, motor off, barely making it outside the breakwater before turning around and... More

Thank you for sailing with us. We are glad you found our crew friendly and our ship beautiful. Our captains do their very best to show our customers the best time they can. Unfortunately, the wind is out of our control. We try to use the sails as much as possible and run our engine as little as possible, to... More

My family have been going on the Lannon for a few years through all sorts of weather and wind, and we always have a nice couple of hours on the water. They have a tasty rum punch concoction, beer, soda, and "salty, crunchy, junk food" snacks that you can buy on board. It is a nice, purposely simple and relatively... More

Skipper Tom Ellis built this vessel about 20 years ago, and it is so well maintained it looks new. My wife and I took an afternoon trip, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being under sail is in my opinion superior to motor excursions. Tom loves people and is easy to talk with. The crew is fun, and help make this a... More

Last week a groups friends and our daughters took the 1 PM schooner ride. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze perfect for sailing. The crew was friendly and helpful. They serve beverages on board and some snacks , we brought a small cooler with food also. I t was fun and relaxing. The captain has a friendly... More

For 4 or 5 years now we've taken a sail on the Lannon each summer. Started as one of the deals, now Lannon contacts us direct so I don't have to remember to book. We've only done the 1 pm sailing since it's nearly 2 hours drive from New Hampshire - but that should tell you how much we enjoy... More

The family built schooner is just beautiful! I felt like I was floating on air as we sailed around Gloucester inner harbor without the motor. Extremely relaxing! I now know why sailing is so popular. The captain obviously loves his ship as it was spotless & well taken care of by the crew. Lovely day!

Highly recommend this if you're visiting Gloucester. Well worth the expense and the Captain and crew are very welcoming, warm and professional! Snacks and drinks on board also. Can be a little breezy so you may want to bring a light coat..it was an 80 degree day and the kids got a little chilli at one point. All different ages... More

Sailed with a private group on the schooner Lannon, which is family owned. The captain and crew were wonderful, answering all questions and so hospitable. Full boat at 49 people, was a gorgeous evening with enough wind to sail and a nice sunset and moonrise. Would have been fun to be a bit windier. Vessel is clean and extremely well... More

This excellent ship is a passenger's dream come true. Safe and easy to sail in, skippered by a charming, well-informed, well-trained Captain, I would bring family and friends to sail in this ship whenever possible!

My husband and I had been looking forward to this trip for weeks. We found we were going to be off together and made reservations to sail. The weather forecast was going to be iffy, but because we had a special coupon to use, the selection of sails was limited. So, we took our chances. When we left our place,... More
