A nice stop to get an overall picture of the area and the salt marsh environment. There is a small theater which shows very good shorts on everything from how the cape was formed, salt marsh restoration and the areas whaling history.

Looking for something to do during inclement weather, stop here. The museum is very interesting and the information desk is staffed with very knowledgeable and friendly folks.

No - the ranger led program rents canoes. Other places DO rent kayaks (see responses). You need to call the Salt Pond Visitor Center to register first. They also provide the instruction about canoe safety, life vests... More
