Captain Wade Murphy and his historic skipjack, the Rebecca T. Ruark, were the highlight of a fall weekend to St. Michael's, MD. We made a visit to Tilghman Island and were so happy we booked a 2 hour trip with Captain Wade. He is everything...More

A FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE. Capt. Murphy is a national treasure and so is the Rebecca T. Ruark which is the oldest skipjack in the Chesapeake fleet. Our cruise was a wonderful experience and Capt. Murphy regaled us with tales (tall and otherwise) about skipjacks, oysters...More

You cannot miss his passion for preserving the Chesapeake Bay. We talked about the decline of the rock fish (stripped bass) and the moritoriam saving that fishery which is now booming and his advocating for something very similar for the oysters. We had just a...More

I was disappointed with my experience aboard Captain Wade's vessel. Some of his comments made me very uncomfortable. He told us that black people just "naturally separate themselves from whites." He offered his political views on the unfortunate fire in Cambridge, Maryland in 1967; without...More

Located in Dogwood Harbor, this charter was our last stop before leaving Maryland. We drove almost 40 min to get out on the water and we were so glad we did. Captain Wade was a delightful educating captain. He told us many stories aboard the...More

The Rebecca Ruark is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a "must do" for any visitor to Tilghman Island in the summer months ( it's out oystering in the winter as a regular workboat). It's one of the few ( perhaps only...More

What the last responder said is correct. He does special cruises if you have a group like a wedding party, or any other dedicated group.
