Get your mosquito spray and prepare for an adventure on a trail of your choosing and wind through the beautiful, tall trees and then meander along the lookouts along the river. A couple of historical buildings on the property are worth checking out.

Make sure you are there when they offer tours etc. Other wise you'll just be walking around old buildings, There are hiking trails around the property but not much info on the history.

This is the best place in Salisbury for hiking. There are lots of trails to choose from. If you're quiet you'll see lots of wildlife.

Great place to go for a hike, alone or with a group of kids! The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that there are no biking trails.

Another great detour on the way to the beach. Not sure when the main house is open to the public, but the walking trails are very nice.

I am so glad that this old house and property was rescued and restored. What a loss for us had it not been. The more I learn about the history of Captain Issac Handy and his plantation, the more attracted I am to visiting here....More
