We were staying in Solomons and decided to take the trip down and try out Slack Winery. I'll tell you when we turned back the dirt road and kept going and going and going, I was a bit concerned over what we would find. All I can say is wow, a beautiful property and some really nice wines. They don't... More

Tucked back on a long dirt driveway is a beautiful winery. Slack. Quaint southern charm all around. The property is on the waterfront and they have shaded seating outside for the warm months. From the tables and chairs to wonderful wooden rocking chairs that sit on the lawn facing the water. You can bring your own food to pair with... More

One of my favorite places on Earth! In search of a waterfront inn for our wedding seven years ago, we came across Woodlawn Farm on a bed and breakfast website. We called Jim Grube, the owner and wedding coordinator, to schedule a meeting and the rest is history. It is hard not to fall in love with the beauty of... More

Discovered the Slack winery wine tasting at Woodlawn manor by chance. For $10 per person, we sampled six local wines in an open, breezy cottage. Bottles and full glasses are available, and there are rocking chairs on the shore where we could sit and enjoy the scenery. The house, which is used for events and as an inn, is a... More

We did a complete testing and loved all of the wines. This was our second visit and this time we got to talk to the wine maker and he knows his stuff. We took our dog this time and he was well received by all. Very dog friendly. We tasted the Pink Shoals and loved it. Then bought 2 bottles... More

We heard from someone this was a place I must visit. I tend to like the drier wine and this was perfect. When you get there you go down a long driveway and get to a beautiful home. They have a smaller building to taste in and they encourage you to walk around the property. We bought a glass of... More

On a much needed getaway, my husband and I decided to travel to southern Maryland and visit Point Lookout. Just before the point, he noticed a sign for a winery. We are cautious of Maryland wines because most tend to be fruity and sweet. However, we turned down Wynn Rd and then onto a long stretch of dirt road that... More

FINALLY a countryside winery that has lodging onsite! The facility has a very historic waterfront property with cottages and bed and breakfast suites in the main house. The proprietors are super nice and I like the wine too!

We stopped by the winery to do a tasting and wound up buying a bottle just so we could stay and enjoy the beautiful view of the tree lined water. The tasting was on the expensive side, $10 a person, and wines started at $17.99 a bottle. They had some great dry whites. I liked the Ebb Tide and the... More

All were tasty and given with snacks, so very enjoyable! So be very careful you do not get tipsy! Lol.
