Nice to stop near the bridge. One can see the wonders of wildlife that inhabit the area. Good parking and boat ramp at bridge. Great view. Osprey nest here too.

Quaint area, nice drive. We didn't make it to the lighthouse area, but plan to return later in the fall.

Not much to say about St George Island. It's located on the lower Potomac River and is primarily a residential area. Great views of the Potomac River and St Marys River. One thing there worth visiting for other than nature is Ruddy Duck Seafood & Alehouse. They are located on the island just over the bridge on the St Marys... More

We had a brief visit to the island when staying at Piney Point. If you are looking for boating, fishing and tranquility above all, this is the place. Its a perfect spot for some peace and privacy. There are no tourist rush even in August as there are very few options for dining and lodging in the area. Even gas... More

We have been boating and fishing all week and a great destination. Fishing was great with blues and came up on a pod of about 30 dolphins that swam with the boat for about 15 min. Great event that the kids enjoyed.

It is according to what you want. This part of the country is very slow moving and relaxing. Everything is clean, just as you probably imagine coastal Maryland to be. BUT you are not going to find sandy, southern, free beaches in this area as you will in the south. Most beaches are private, and there is not a lot... More
