This city-owned lighthouse is in a picturesque setting at one end of a bayside park with commanding views of the mouth of the mighty Susquehanna River and the Upper Chesapeake Bay. Its purpose was to warn of strong currents and shoals. It’s the second oldest...More

We were so excited to climb a lighthouse. When we arrived, we were disappointed it was so small. We had other activities planned around the day, so the opening time of 1pm was important to us. We left at 1:10pm when there were still no...More

The Havre de Grace Lighthouse is the focal point of the Promenade. Most of the people who spend time walking the Board Walk and the Promenade dpn't feel that their walk is comple until they have circled the lighthouse.

What a great little lighthouse! Upon arriving a nice volunteer tells you all about the construction -- twenty seven stairs and an eight rung ladder to get to the top where the light is ! A few people decided to pass, seeing that the steps...More

This lighthouse is beautiful and well maintained. There is a boardwalk from the lighthouse to the marina which was delightful. This city is very far from anything else. I would not make the drive back. Whoever manages the explorehavredegrace.com website should receive an award. The...More

My daughter and grandson visited this site to see the lighthouse because someone told her to go. What we found was a beautiful sight, our common history and inspiration. I love history and this was a way to see it up close and personal.

This is a small lighthouse with lots of history. You can tour the outside for free and the walking area is refreshing. There are tours inside, but we weren’t there while this was open. Built in 1827, it is the second oldest lighthouse on Chesapeake...More
