Great place to take kids. takes less than hour. Best at Christmas time because of RR train set. A true historic site

Small museum but packed with good stuff for train lovers. Few engines outside. Nice display. Love their Christmas display, fun for kids all ages

Interesting and well done! The roundhouse where the trains are displayed is a beautiful piece of architecture. Lots of model trains from local train clubs to interest big and small train buffs! Want to ride a real train? No problem! A mile journey awaits you. Plan on spending a couple of hours.

Visited this terrific museum just before New Year and we all loved it. The Grandparents, both parents, and a 5 year old girl (granddaughter) and 2 year old boy (grandson). What a fun place for everyone. We saw two floors + of miniature (model) trains and and outdoor exhibit of a real caboose and a model of the old B&O... More

Although we've been to Ellicott City a number of times, this was our first visit to the museum. It is rather small, but there are a number of interesting artifacts and stories pertaining to local history. We were fortunate enough to have visited just a few months before the city was hit with a devastating flood-- the worst in nearly... More

I went for a business meeting inside the museum and was a really great experience. You can breath the history of all the trains. You can go over the wagon. I totally recommend this Museum!

I took myself and my boys to the museum really just to see one thing in particular and that is the B&O 5300 President Washington steam engine and it was nice to see a piece of my family history. Back in the day of steam my great grandfather ran this engine and to see it preserved is very special. Anyway... More

It was a wonderful, and historic museum until July 30 when Ellicott City was ravaged by six inches of water in under two hours. Google "Ellicott City Flooding". You won`t believe it. When the Museum was open it clearly rated five stars. It suffered no damage, unlike most other buildings in Ellicott City, by virtue of being elevated a bit... More
