Stopped in during our layover on the train. Right across the street from the depot. 2 floors of unique displays of antique carriages from 1850-1910. Very neat and interesting. Good signage to explain what we are viewing.

This museum is located in Frostburg, Md at the Western Railroad train trip halfway point. The museum displays such an interesting collection of horse drawn carriages. The carriages are all in beautiful condition and give an idea of how we traveled before automobiles.

Wide assortment of old carriages and period piece costumes. We enjoyed the funeral carriages. If you enjoy carriages and this is your interest it is worth the time and effort to seek this place out.

Whilst this attraction sits at the end of the line of the steam train that starts in Cumberland, this museum is actually located in Frostburg just opposite the Frostburg Depot. It is about the only thing that folks alighting from the train during the turn-around...More
