Long Sands Beach is very pretty. The only issue is there seemed to be a lot of seaweed. Parking is also an issue unless you go into one of the lots that charges $20 a day.

Sadly, it was a very foggy and drizzly kind of afternoon. We enjoyed pausing at the beach, admiring the view. It was low tide so it was not only a long beach, but a very wide beach as well. There were a few hearty souls...More

My wife and I are not sunbathers. We like to go for long walks along the beach after dinner when the crowds are gone. Long Sands Beach is the perfect beach for that. It is large, flat, and the sand stays compacted from the tides....More

Long sands Beach is a very unique place. We got there accidently, but had a great morning. .This is a large flat beach, you will see people flying kites, throwing Frisbees, walking, surfing, and sunning.

My family has been visiting York Beach for over 30 years. We love Long Sands. Closer to the cliffs there is more beach during high tide, further down there is no beach during high tide, but there are plenty of other things to do so...More

I do not understand the draw to this area of Maine. Over crowed, over priced, and the beach...I wouldn't even call it a beach. Every day at high tide the water rises so high that all the tourists get pushed up onto the rocks or...More

The beach is huge when the tide is out but when it comes in, you must either go back to your hotel or move up onto the rocks. It is a popular beach and filled with families having a fun time.

Can't imagine why anyone would come to this beach on purpose. We were there as we were on the coastal road and got stuck in the traffic. Got out to see what all the hub-bub was about. Granted it was probably close to high tide,...More

Nope. From what I remember, there has been a caretaker, historically (as recently as the late 1980s), but now there is a grounds keeper (who rows to the lighthouse). Views of the Nubble are well documented online.
