This place was awesome. I will be coming back here for sure to see the lighthouse. Seeing and hearing the wave's crash against the rocks was awesome.

This ocean is beautiful there, but it's small and gets very crowded. During high tide, you have to moved up to the rocky area, or you will be in the ocean. You need to get there early, or parking will be a problem too. It's...More

As others have posted long sands beach is a low tide beach only. At high tide the water is pretty much up to the road. We were there mid august when low tide was from noon until 6pm which means you have great beach from...More

This is by far our favorite beach in Maine. Check the Tide Charts, because at High Tide you have to be sitting near the bathhouse to enjoy the sand. Within an hour, you can spread out further, and any time past mid-tide the beach is...More

The Long Sand Beach is York is not your typical beach. It is only a beach during low tide (a very wet one) and pretty much an ocean during high tide. You can only walk on it but cannot sit/lie on it. Can this technically...More

Coming from Washington State this is an incredible beach! The sand was perfect and the waves are so much fun. I would never want to swim in the ocean in Washington. But here I can easily get in the water. This is also a great...More

Bring a few quarters and spend an hour or 2 just walking on the beach. Clean, waves, hermit crabs for kids to see.

This is a lovely beach - when it is there. Because of the geography, you have lots of sand to choose from during low tide, and none during high. The parking situation is not generous and the beach fills up with folks who are renting...More

Great walking Beach at low tide. Not as congested as Short Sands. Bathroom and small convenience store, and ice cream shop are present.

Nope. From what I remember, there has been a caretaker, historically (as recently as the late 1980s), but now there is a grounds keeper (who rows to the lighthouse). Views of the Nubble are well documented online.
