I love this place. It feels like an artfully creative collection of space, like an old farmhouse that’s been added onto with each era and invention. It has a rich and challenging connection, great curation, architectural goodness. The library is always worth a sit, with...More

Dear PMcFarout, Thank you so much for the kind words and also for your very thoughtful criticism. We have for many years succumbed to the challenge of having to rotate far too many galleries at one time - creating a situation during the "off-season" which...More

Olsen house is wonderful and the staff much nicer. I am a huge fan of NC and Andrew Wyeth and coupled a visit to the Brandywine in Chadds Ford, PA, with a visit to the Farnsworth with high expectations. I was met with rude, condescending...More

Dear Art4theages, I am truly sorry that you had an unpleasant experience at the Farnsworth. It is certainly not our habit to treat visitors in the manner you describe in your review, and we will obviously look into the matter as visitor experience is a...More

Just a fabulous museum. We did not know it existed until looking at the cruise brochure on things to do in Rockland. Walked around town on a sunny day and what a great find. Do not miss. Period.

Nice take for local art. Famous and otherwise. Intimate and enjoyable given Maine's wonderful and unique old New England sensibility.

Small museum with a wonderful collection in several buildings. The Wyeth collection is top-notch, and the former church building in which there are many Wyeths shown is beautiful architecturally. Lots of artists shown who have connections to Maine. It is a rich place to visit.

The Farnsworth is a delight with several galleries to enjoy on their beautiful campus. For Wyeth fans, you must stop here! Super gift shop too!

This year there was a stunning new exhibit of Wyeth in Rockland as well as many other paintings we have not seen in our 12 years of visits. Wei Wei/s sculptured gilded heads of the Chinese zodiac were amazing in their detail and grace, and...More

I am not by nature an art lover but the Wyeth exhibition proved to be well worth the visit, even if they don't have the most famous painting there!

Thank you for the kind review. We're glad you enjoyed the exhibition! The painting you are referencing is most probably Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World, which resides at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Certainly worth a visit if you get a chance!

The Farnsworth is well known by Wyeth lovers, and we went down there to see a special N.C. Wyeth show before it left. What we did not know, however, is how much else the Farnsworth has, and what an accessible space it is. We were...More
