We visited the Portland Schooner Co. in May of 2016 and had an absolute blast. We aimed for an early 10:30AM ride in the middle of the week and rode with one other couple. Our crew was so amazing and we got to help raise the sails. Viewing the little homes along the coastline was a neat experience and we'd... More

We had a great time on this boat cruise. I had never been sailing before, so for me this was a great experience. The captain and crew were very friendly. This tour is not narrated, however the captain let us know that we were welcome to ask questions at any time during the trip. They were more than happy to... More

This is definitely a worthwhile way to spend a few hours. We took an afternoon cruise when the wind is usually a bit stronger and it was a beautiful day. Cruise takes about two hours, end to end and costs about $45 per person, plus tip if you are so inclined. You are invited to help crew, but be warned... More

This was fun. I'd been thinking of doing it for several years and finally got around to it. We had a nice day, there was enough wind, the captain and crew were friendly and engaging, and they made sure to point out many of the things we were passing by. There's nothing quite like having the motor turned off and... More

This we can hosestly say was the highlight of our trip to Portland! It was a cloudly day and just before we boarded the schooner there was a downpour but that made this the best sail. The captain was able to give us a taste of what racing sailing was like. He had the schooner up to 9 knots and... More

This desert-dwelling Grand Canyon Boatman finds myself on the rocky coast of Maine...TIME SO WELL SPENT in the capable hands of Captain & crew on a ship that is actually a work of ART! FUN to pitch-in hoisting sail & coiling line! I badgered the good Skipper and his mates with a landlubber's million questions, each one answered with charm... More

This cruise is how we ended our week long trip to Maine, I can't think of a more perfect way to have spent that time. Well worth the price of the ticket. The crew is friendly, and will happily chat with you about the schooner or anything else. Watching the sun set together from the beautiful Wendameen was an experience... More

What a great way to see Portland, on the 104 year old Wendameen. 80 feet and beautiful, we had fair winds so all the sails went up and we had a great time in Casco Bay and great views of Portland Head Light area. Thanks to Capt Alex and crew, you guys rock, the sail was safe and smooth. Highly... More
