Peaks Island is only a 20 minute ferry ride from Portland. It's a small island. You can rent a golf cart or a bike to explore it. We chose to do Island Tours. Our tour guide (John?) drove around 8 customers around the island on a larger golf cart type vehicle. He had great stories about the island from the... More

I had to take my truck out to Peaks Island for a wedding. Casco Bay Lines do an excellent job of parking the vehicles. Also, they make sure pedestrians are loaded and unloaded safely. Wonderful views and a smooth ride.

Loved jumping on the ferry to Peaks Island, having dinner at the Cockeyed Gull and then catching the ferry back to downtown Portland. Lovely trip - only a bar on board would have enhanced the experience.

This is one of the ferry companies in Portland. It is a must do. We took it over to one of the islands so much fun.

We took two Casco Bay ferries - the mail boat and the Peak's Island ferry - and I would recommend both, but particularly Peak's Island. The Casco Bay mail boat is a great way to see the bay, but you don't really get a chance to stop and explore any of the islands. The Peak's Island ferry, on the other... More

What a great island to live on. Very peaceful and quiet as we rode our bikes along the roads. Thank goodness we rented our bikes at cyclemania because walking the island would have been boring and endless. Putting the bikes on the ferry was an extra 6.50each but so worth it. We rode the island stopped at sites on the... More

So much fun to take a ferry ride for 20 minutes, rent a golf cart, go around the island, and then have an amazing lunch at the Peaks Island Inn. Totally recommend this excursion!

Parking can be a pain but easy to get tickets. a couple of more signs would help. Nice staff and beautiful ride.

We have just returned from a perfect trip to Peaks Island. The Ferry was on time even with the hundreds of people loading and unloading. As Senior Citizens we paid half price, $3.75. Amazingly good value! We walked around half the island and enjoyed the picturesque coves. There were bikes, golf carts, and cars making their way around the island.... More

While in Portland, my wife and I decided that we would take a short "3 hour tour." (by the way, the weather did not get rough!) ;) The cruise is inexpensive and stops at various islands to make deliveries. The guide tells much about the islands and gives you time to enjoy the scenery. We were able to see Bald... More
