While visiting Maine this summer ('18), we took the tour boat for a tour of Casco Bay with a long stop at Bailey's Island. While at Bailey's, we enjoyed a delicious sea food lunch with our friends at Cooks Lobster and Ale. Bailey's is quite...More

I spent many summers in Casco by on one Island but all of the bay and Islands offer unique experiences. Take the mail run on Casco baylines or rent an Island cottage for a week. Never disappointed.

Took the small ferry to Peaks Island. Not much there to see or do. Rented a golf cart for $50 for an hour to drive around the island. To expensive and nothing much to see.

Try the mailboat tour because you get an overview of the entire bay . This gives you an idea of both fishing boats out as well as tourist just out on the Ferries. Stopping at Cliff Island with the welcome of mail delivery to folks...More

We took the ferry to Peaks Island which was a short trip. It was a beautiful sunny calm day and not very busy because out of season so we didn’t reserve a cart and easily rented one. It was well worth doing. Absolutely stunning views...More

From other reviews and websites, I must have gotten a wrong impression of the islands and purpose. The ferry ride over was very nice and fun, but once we arrived, everything was located on one block, an ice cream shop, a restaurant or two, a...More

Beautiful day for sightseeing cruise on Casco Bay Portland Maine. Lighthouse’s, Islands and nature. Ned the narrator was very informative of the history and natural wonders of the Bay. Even saw and eagle on one of the islands nesting and flying over the boat. A...More

If you’re in Portland, go to at least one, if not some, of these islands. The ferry is convenient, inexpensive, comfortable, and the views are fantastic. You can get off at one of the little islands, hike, eat, go to the beach, or do nothing,

The mail boat trips, twice daily in summers, are the longest. Ordinarily, barring any emergency, there is no need to disembark a ferry until the entire trip is done. Ferries have restrooms. They also have limited vending... More
