Evergreen is beautiful at this time of year - well, any time of year really. The history is palpable as you walk through the cemetery. Reading the epitaphs is interesting and provides insight into another era. A wonderful place. And the turtles!!! Hundreds of them...More

Largest cemetery in maine. Even has guided walking tours. A chapel with weddings. 3 small ponds in the back. Not for swimming but we use to skate there as kids. I'm not sure if they are still plowed.

Very close to home and a great place to just get away for a quiet walk with yourself, your friend, or your dog. Pretty well cared for, although it is sad to see stones that have been vandalized never set up again and some older...More

This is great spot to watch birds on their migration route. Evergreen Cemetery is a huge dark area at night that birds can drop in on as they migrate. Trees, woods and ponds are attractive to the temporary visitors who fly from tree to tree.

A beautiful,160 year-old, park-style cemetery with paths, mausoleums and a pond with turtles and ducks. Located in a suburban neighborhood and a wonderful place to walk or just spend time. The Friends of Evergreen Cemetery offers guided walking tours in summer.

Oddly enough you can get married in the cemetery. This is a beautiful, huge cemetery that boosts a historical chapel, Wilde Memorial Chapel. The Chapel is almost medieval in style and it's corner stone has 1902 engraved on it. It's set near the edge of...More
