This walk is 3.5 miles long and takes you round the back cove. A flat walk through some lovely residential area. Great for the bird life and the trees. Unfortunately, there are no refreshment stops, so it is best to take some with you as on a hot day you can get very thirsty. We did this walk as a... More

The hard-pack gravel trail is about 3.5 miles in total. The view is quite nice. But one should know that it is along the interstate and then a couple of big roads. So it is great for jogging but not exactly an ideal hike.

This is the perfect jogging trail in Portland. Being here for a few days, we tried many places to jogg, and this is the best. It is about 6 km just for the bay, but adding smaller trails, you can to around 14 to 15 km.

We biked around the flat Back Cove Trail loop. Always along the water. Not the prettiest water view. Parts were swampy but unique. Under bridges, along side on a bridge (cement barrier between traffic and trail) rolling hills, industrial parts, residential parts, park like parts. All in all, a very unique and well used trail.

Nice walking trail with pleasant foliage and view of the water. Good site for Pokemon Go players as well. Small parking lot, but was not too crowded.

Great place to walk with kids. Nice view and lots of space for everyone. Long walk so wear sturdy shoes

We're so lucky to have this space right in the middle of town--a real respite--safe, scenic and available for free 24/7.

Nice walking trail and great way to start our day. We enjoyed the back cove trail just a little more than the east prom trail as the east trail goes right by the sewer treatment plant and was really smelly.

This 3.5 mile loop around Portland's Back Cove is an excellent trail for walking or running. Each 1/4 mile is marked, allowing you to turn around and figure your mileage accurately. The city backdrop is a nice view. The trail is mostly flat and natural, with only a paved portion at the bridge.
