These Casco Bay Lines ferry trips are just so enjoyable ! The staff is awesome (and talented--watch them lasso the boat line to the dock cleat !). Choices to stay outside, on the bow or stern of the boat, or inside in a warm and clean environment (bathrooms included). Always friendly, always efficient and inviting staff---totally enjoy every boat trip... More

Casco Bay Lines is a ferry service to the islands of Casco Bay. A low cost tickets will take you out on the water and return you to Portland. An easyday trip to take would be Peaks Island.

The best and most wonderful way to see multiple islands in one boat ride is the "MAILBOAT RUN" with Casio Bay Cruises. It's less than $20.00 per person and lasts around 3 hours. What a great bargain! My boat ride had 12 people and the Captain made it a narrated and extremely fascinating boat ride. This Captain was actually working... More

This was my favorite activity on a recent Portland trip. The mailboat run delivers mail, people and parcels as it cruises throughout Casco Bay islands. The scenery is spectacular and it's interesting to see homes dotted along the island fronts and imagine what it's like to live there year round. It seems remarkably peaceful and would make a relaxing quiet... More

Take the Mailboat ferry. About 3 hours of riding out and back. It is the mail run, so stops are made on several islands on the way out. Some people get on to go to other islands. More people get board on the ride back to Portland because the same stops are made. The scenery is great. The boat has... More

We had a great trip to Peaks island. Ferry was very efficient and exactly on time. Ferry is every hour with early start and end time. Boat was clean and outdoor seating was nice in the sun. Good value and a great way to see the islands.

This is a great way to see and learn something about the many islands off Portland, and the lives of those who live on them. It's very interesting to see the service the boat provides, and lovely to be out on the water. It's a " no frills" boat but does provide an interesting commentary.

Nice way to see the islands, and how they deliver goods. but the ride was too long for my toddlers and they got bored halfway. It gets cold on the wwater so we had to down to the lower deck after a while. But overall nice relaxing ride with a little narration from the crew (most times I can not... More

Since I went on vacation to Portland before all the tourist boats, etc. were open, I was so glad to book a "tour" on the Mailboat Run of Casco Bay Lines. It was a beautiful (but chilly) day and we had great views of the bay lighthouses. Each island stop was a little different from the other and it was... More
