Saw "Mamma Mia" at the afternoon matinee, followed by dinner at nearby restaurant, Roost Cafe and Bistro. This it he first production at the playhouse for their 85th season. I've seen the play previously in London and Boston and this production holds its own (and surpasses the performance I saw in Boston several years ago). Actors and music are top... More

Every season we frequent the playhouse with its great shows. Just saw Mamma Mia having never seen before on film or stage. Can't say we enjoyed it. Music was Too loud it distorted, seemed like the sound equipment and acoustics of theater couldn't deliver the best output for this dynamic show compared to other shows we've enjoyed here. i.e., Million... Don't miss the shows put on by the Children's theater group at the playhouse. Very entertaining n put on by children in the theater workshop. The characters come outdoors afterwards for photo ops. Very affordable for the family but book tickets early.

Awesome summer theater at its best . Try to do at least 2-3 shows a season and make it and overnight stay. Shows are always amazing. Theater is all on one floor no bad seats.

I love going to the theater but not places that are overly crowded, so this venue is perfect. the play was extremely well produced and directed and the acting was great. we will definitely be going back the next time we are in Wells.

This is the best place to see a musical. Especially if you don't particularly enjoy them. The history behind the play house is fascinating and the production itself was wonderful. Don't skimp on seats. It was worth it to be upfront and center. We're going back this year and I can't wait. They have the traffic thing engineered perfectly. So... More

Never a bad show. The theater is 85 years old this summer and has been the place for broadway actors since. The stars that have been through the playhouse will amaze you. The shows are all top notch with equity actors from NYC, London, LA etc. The talent is over-the-top! The shows are all terrific. In addition to the great... More
