This is a demonstration of lobster fishing and information about lobster biology, Maine lobster fisheries, commercial aspects of the fishery and last but not least, some local history. Fun for the whole family. The Rugosa is a real wooden lobster boat out on the Gulf of Maine and in terms of information shared by the tour guide, it is pretty comprehensive material for children under 4 years of age. Very young children can be a distraction to the rest of the guests aboard the boat, enjoying the presentation.

Had a great outing with Captain Bob and Professor Dave. A lot of information and hands on experience with lobsters. The educational experience length was a perfect 1.25 hours, not too long but very fulfilling. We landed lobsters, studied them and handled them. The crew...More

Thank you 6magdaddy9 for your review. Our morning trip that day was pretty nauseating and so I was expecting it to be similar. We lucked out with a pretty decent ocean for your trip. Thanks for being aboard!

We had a hard time finding it and, when we did, no one was there. Just as we were to leave, the captain ran up. He said he had called & left a message, but came in case we didn't get it (we didn't). He...More

Capt Bob was a very caring polite and funny guy and the other helper, sorry I can’t remember his name was very knowledgeable and informative. I did the tour twice within two weeks for different family members and enjoyed both equally. I highly recommend

Educational and interesting. But it was way too expensive. One of the guides was not that kid friendly. A bit surprising for this kind of Tour.More

My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. An in depth presentation all things involved in Lobster harvesting and details about the animals. We got to handle and take as many photos alone the entire journey as we wished. Clean Boat and well organized tour.

We usually start the week before Memorial Day. This year it was the 23rd. Weather is a little sketchy early in the season so be aware of weather forecasts in the area.
