It’s the beginning of December and the holidays are upon us. This year I was looking for something a little different than just shopping. The Freeport Sparkle Celebration seemed like a fun idea. Although the celebration encompasses most of the downtown area of Freeport, ME...More

You could spend HOURS here!! Each building is themed...retail, home, fishing/gear! So much to see, and my kids (6.5 & 8) had a great time exploring :)

Coming to Freeport for a family gathering became difficult when the weather turned to cold and rain. LLBean was a place of refuge. The stores are huge and fun to explore. Our group of eight adults found many items in the clearance racks, and specialty...More

We went to Bean three times on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend (mid morning, late afternoon, after dinner). Not only were there very few customers, if any, you also couldn't find salespeople to help you. Did Bean fire them? I had a gift card...More

Huge selection of outdoor gear for all activities. Campus houses three stores that are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Spacious and the staff are attentive but it is so expensive. Search for the sale racks and you might be surprised.

Went in to browse as it was our first time in Freeport. Very nice store - it goes on and on. Had some clearance racks with pants on it but only in two sizes. I was in luck the size was mine, so I bought...More

Love LL Bean merchandise and yes aware it is expensive. While this is their Flagship store(s) they limit sizes so that tall person will find almost nothing to fit. Yes can get online but you went to the "Store".

There is a campus of stores and also a restaurant opposite. Lobster rolls etc. I think 2 to 3 hours including lunch.

I answered and then had a thought - does the cruise ship stop in Freeport or just in Portland? First check that out because it's about 18-20 miles from Portland to Freeport. Perhaps Uber might be a cheaper option.

Taxi might be a little more than that, Uber can be cheaper. The other option is the metro Breeze bus, around trip around $6.00
