If you're in Freeport, you have to stop by the original LL Bean. It's always open. Check out the taxidermy displays and the river aquarium. And of course, go shopping.

Think Highway 1 in California. This is another iconic highway. Spectacular roadway. Don’t rush, dawdle. Stop. Gawk. Walk. Enjoy the journey.

Beautiful drive with so many things to see and do that it's not even easy to tell you! LOTS of shopping options for sure! Fall scenery was incredible and not so crowded so we really enjoyed our time there!

Recently took route 1 from Portland, ME to Bar Harbor. Just took our time and enjoyed the scenery and old local bookstores and antique shops along the way. Maine charm at its best! Slow down and enjoy the ride...beautiful drive! Highly recommend!

US1 is a great ride in the fall. The colors were beautiful and the weather cooperated with 70 degree days. Taking our time, we saw far more things and visited far more places than if we were on the interstate.
