This was the best thing we did during our brief visit to the Loire Valley. Sebastian and D'Arcy are warm, wonderful hosts and shared this special place with us. The tour was interesting and informative while covering the beautiful grounds of their chateau and vineyards. We particularly enjoyed how their dog (dmitri) and cat (pickles) followed along on the tour... More

I visited Chateau du Petit Thouars with a group of students in March 2017, and it was an absolute highlight of our week in France. The chateau itself is owned and run by a 12th generation inhabitant, Sebastien, and his delightful young family. Sebastien was warm, friendly and inviting, and it was a true delight to learn about his vineyard... More

Truly such a delightful and wonderful time. The romantic picnic in the vineyard was picturesque and delicious. We even got to take home the wine and cheese that we didn't finish. We bought an additional bottle of the dry white we tasted too. The tasting was fantastic, Darcy eloquently explained the story and evolution of each of the wines and... More

We were on a wine tasting group tour with Olaloire tours and we stopped here for our second tasting of the day. Sebastian's chateau and vineyards are lovely. It's incredible that they do everything here. From the growing of the grapes, to the actual making and bottling of the wines. It was a real treat to tour the property and... More

We enjoyed everything about our visit - the stillness of the countryside; our very interesting tour of the vineyard and cellars; our tasting afterwards of several vintages - all made more enjoyable by the warm and friendly hospitality of Sebastien and D'Arcy and their family.

This was one of the top highlights of a recent 2-week trip to France. The entire family made us feel welcome - from the gentlemanly grand-père, to the owner/director, Sebastian, and his wife, Darcy, to their adorable little daughter (who at 4 spoke flawless English and French!). Even their little Cairn Terrier was friendly and rounded out the experience. As... More

The hosts are lovely and knowledgeable, the area is beautiful, the wines are high-quality and inexpensive, and if you get the "picnic in the vines" (which you should), you'll be treated to an amazing spread of regional specialties (plus a bottle of wine to go with it). The hosts even accommodated my vegetarian girlfriend, a relative rarity in France. Cool... More

We recently visited Chinon for the first time and were lucky enough to see the grounds and vineyard at Chateau du Petit Thouars! Yves welcomed us into his home, which has been in his family for many generations! We learned about the property and saw grapes that he planted in the late 70s! After our tour, we entered the tasting... More

We stopped at Chateau du Petit Thouars for a tour, tasting, and a picnic lunch. The tour and tasting, given by the owners themselves, was both amazing and personable. The picnic lunch was unbelievable. We've added this to our "must do" list when we return to this region of France in the future.

We were wine touring, and stopped at the chateau for a lunch and tasting. The family is lovely, the food was excellent, wine was great, I would highly recommend if you are in the area.
