Beautiful day to walk around Fort Williams Park. This was right next door to the Portland Head Light so we were able to spend a couple of very enjoyable hours. You can walk in the ruins and climb to the top for amazing views. Make it a stop when you are in Portland.

...considering that there is no visible refuse receptacle and no permanent restroom facilities. Kudos to the people of Cape Elizabeth for keeping this park free for all to see and enjoy. Voluntary donations are accepted and recommended. Visitors to the Portland Head Lighthouse are grateful for the free parking provided by the Park. Kite flying during clear and sunny days... More

Most visitors will come here to see the lighthouse, which is a good reason to come by the way, but the park that is built around the old fort is worth the visit too. If your interested in history this is a must see location. There are information boards at key locations to give you details on the structure. I've... More

And lots of history to be seen here. A shout out to Cape Elizabeth for not turning this expanse into an exclusive condo palace. Ball fields, dog walks and seaside trails combine to make this a 'must visit' on your stop in Portland. Then, of course, Portland Head light is here.

Most people come here for the light house. We were happy to see other things to do. There was lots of places to walk around. Other things to see. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed the historic sites and the various views we could get of the lighthouse. The park is in progress. I encourage them to keep up the good... More

We were there in early Jan.and the roads were well maintained, sidewalks plowed and getting around was easy. Kids were sledding along the hill and the view of the light house was fantast.
