We took the auto road because we didn't have the right shoes to hike. $6 per person is well worth the money. There were plenty of areas to view the gorgeous fall foliage view of Penobscot Bay below! Many trails lead way to gorgeous views...More

Spectacular views of Camden. We always attempt to reach the highest point in a community and use the location to understanding the regional setting. Mount Battie is such a high point. Great views.

We drove up to the top of Mount Battie and saw a beautiful view of Camden Harbour. Not too difficult to walk around once you've driven to the top. It's well worth your time.

Great hikes, Beautiful views We enjoyed hiking the Mount Baddie trail. There were a few spots that provided a small challenge because they required a bit of scrambling, but it was an easy overall hike. We also drove to the top to see the fog...More

We drove up the morning of our departure. After 2 days of rain, the weather was clearing, and we wanted the opportunity for stunning views. Most worth it!

As always the view was outstanding. We took some folding chairs with some wine and snacks, found a place out of the way and just enjoyed the views and sunshine

A short drive from the town of Camden. It is a beautiful 360° view from the top, and well worth a stop. Bring binoculars to enhance the experience.

Granted it was a fall late Saturday afternoon - but the place was loaded. We were lucky to get a parking spot. Will be honest and would advise making the drive to Lookout atop the Point Lookout resort - no cost, spectacular view, and almost...More

Hi John L, Columbus Day weekend is our busiest time of the year - far busier than any other holiday. Most of the time the summit (and entire 6,200 acre park) is nowhere near as busy. The view from Point Lookout is beautiful but the...More

The road is paved, two-laned and 1.5 miles in length. Tour buses and motorhomes can climb/descend it with no problem.

It usually opens in May and closes after Thanksgiving to cars. You can always park and walk up the road year round.

There is a parking lot so you may always park and hike up the mountain year round. No sledding hills that I know of but the town owns a ski mountain called the snow bowl that you can sled at.
