Amazing jazz joint

I almost feel bad reviewing Teddy's, because I want it to stay a secret rather than get more publicity, but they deserve it. Teddy's is like no place else in the world, and is truly like what Louisiana used to be like back in the day. One of the only remaining jazz joints, Teddy's is keeping the music and the... More

We went to Teddys on a Sunday night. We had a terrific meal of red beans and rice and hot sausage. The music came on in a timely manner and we thoroughly enjoyed Sundanze Band. We met Teddy and shared with him an article from the New York Times which featured the Juke Joint. This earned me a kiss! The... More

Have visited several times and always have a great time. Inexpensive drinks, good music and great fun. Very small and their decorations are kinda like a grade sale exploded but you can't help but checking out everything hanging from the ceiling. You have to try it out.

Teddy's Juke Joint is a great place to enjoy good ol' blues music and have a nice cool drink! Teddy is very friendly as well as all the folks I met while hanging out. Great little place to rest and relax after work.

This is THE Louisiana juke joint for all true blues fans. Teddy has been running this place for more than 35 years and loves what he does. Just a few miles between Baton Rouge and Zachary, tucked away on the Old Sceniuc Hwy, Teddy features live blues on most weekends and a great DJ on Thursday. Check the website for... More

This is a real deal, old-fashioned juke joint. Great music, great ambience and a full bar (which is unusual for a juke.) Teddy, the guy who runs the place is warm and welcoming and very interesting to talk to. (And was wearing a killer pair of white alligator cowboy boots.) The music, both live and from the dj booth were... More

Location: 17001 Old Scenic Hwy (Hwy 964) at the intersection of Heck Young Road. A couple miles south of Zachary. Sign out front by the road. The bar sits back quite a ways from the road. Phone number is 225-658-8029. You would barely know it is a bar as the outside is very unassuming. However the inside is great!!! Small... More

Teddy's is the last of its kind... featuring fantastic Blues musicians from around the country. The bar has as much of a character as Teddy does! They have the largest chicken wings I've ever eaten, too. If you want to experience a true Blues concert, Teddy's is the place!

I was looking for an out of the way blues joint where I could relax and enjoy the ambiance of a southern juke joint and that is just what I found at Teddy's. Teddy and his wife Nancy made me feel like I was a neighbor that stopped by for a visit. We shared our histories while listening to the... More

A little joint well hidden, we went there with some friends. We were the only ones there on a Tuesday night; and had a very memorable experience. Nice out of the way place to visit.
