We chose the 6 passenger small boat tour upon recommendation of our hotel's concierge. Although in January the big gators are dormant we did see a few juvenile sized. Our captain was a young fireman from Slidell who captains for this company on a part time basis. He is Cajun and grew up in this area so knew the river,... More

We were part of a group of 11 who were able to go out in the smaller, 12-person boat to explore the swamp on a chilly January day. Although the weather kept the gators and snakes from being out and about, we still saw enough wildlife in the water, land and air to make it interesting. Just learning about the... More

My husband and I were skeptical about taking a "swamp tour", but we were pleasantly surprised. We had great weather, though too cool for alligator spotting. There were 8 of us on the tour. We had hotel pick up in the French Quarter. About a 45 minute ride to the tour location. Tour was about an hour and 45 minutes... More

The swamp is a beautiful place, and even in November we were able to see alligators, snakes, raccoons (which persistently run on the shore alongside the boat, hoping for treats), and turtles along with Great Blue herons and other birds. And of course the lovely trees and other plants are always there, so you still get to soak up the... More

Although it was a cold day, the trip was amazing. We were picked up by the shuttle on time at our hotel in New Orleans for the 45 minute trip to Slidell. There were only 5 of us on the trip, so it almost seemed like a private tour. Captain John Royen was extremely interesting and very knowledgeable about all... More

This was a recommendation of the concierge at the hotel, and it was a good one for us. We were picked up at the hotel and transported right to the dockside. We had 6 people on a boat that normally held 18 or so, and that made the tour very low key and personal. We saw lots of 'gators and... More

We are SO happy to have discovered this place. We also splurged and went with the 6-passenger boat. I'm not sure what the others experienced, but we could not have been happier with our tour and our guide. Lou absolutely loves his job touring the swamps and sharing his knowledge and love of the area. It is so obvious how... More

Don't yall just love Lou!!! We are lucky to have him with us, and yes he really does love the swamp, love his time out with the customers, and love being able to share his life experiences out in the swamp with people! Our six passenger boats are the smallest boats out on the swamp, and people get a huge... More

Several family members joined "Captain John" for a covered boat tour of a bayou on the North Side of Lake Pontchartrain outside of New Orleans. We were picked up as a group from our B&B in a large van and driven to the location for a very interesting and entertaining tour of the bayou. Captain John was extremely knowledgeable about... More

We were 12 people wanting a swamp tour. Eco tour picked us up at our B&B and delivered us to their dock. 45 minutes away. 26 passenger flat boat. Captain was very knowledgeable. Fourth generation swamp guy. We saw several gators, raccoons, and egrets and herons. Lots of information about history, plants and animals. Ride back was an adventure because... More
