My wife and I visited Konrico in October of 2016 and after enjoying the factory tour purchased a number of items in the Company Store. One of the items was a bag of their "Pecan" Rice. We bought this home , but did not open it until last night as we had other rice at home to finish off first.... More

This stop will not be for everyone. You must truly be interested in learning about milling of rice and if you are...this is the place. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the industry, company, and area. We learned everything there was to know about rice milling and saw some incredible machinery in this truly historic mill. The company store... More

The KONRIKO Company Store is very nice. Full of nice gifts, souvenirs, food items, and local crafts. Good prices and friendly staff. Do buy some of the Wild Pecan Rice, the specialty of KONRIKO. Plenty of parking, and take the tour of the old Conrad Rice Mill.

My husband and I are fans of factory tours so we decided to visit. The plant, while still operating, is more of a museum and you only get to see the first floor. But you do get to see a model of the operation and the guide gives a full explanation. We enjoyed the film on Cajun life, tasting the... More

This was an interesting tour. You'll enjoy it more with the right expectations. 1. Staff are outstanding- friendly, helpful, informative 2. No raw rice comes into the mill- all the rice at the mill has already been de-husked at another mill, so it's not a full end-to-end process. 3. The main business is polishing and bagging rice, and converting the... More

When we came into the Acadiana area of Louisiana we were surprised to see rice paddies. We decided right away that we needed to learn more about rice in the area. The rice mill at Iberia met that need perfectly. The movie that we started with helped us to understand how the area had developed and some basics about rice... More

Cozy atmosphere with knowledgeable employees. The souvenirs are a bit pricey but it is nice to just browse around.

It took 6 years for the current owners to wade through paperwork to certify the site as a museum, so now nothing about it can be changed. The firm's 14 employees do everything today as it was done in years gone by. While there is machinery to process the grains to remove the bran, etc., much is still done manually.... More

This tour was the first tour of a rice mill we had experienced. It was thorough, interesting, and complete with a short video and rice tasting.
