I was looking forward to visiting here and getting some background on rice production. This is a place that time has passed by. I'm sure in it's heyday it thrived, was neat and clean and interesting... but I was disappointed. An old 70's era movie,...More

We enjoyed the movie that introduced the Acadians, the shop, and the informative docent as she explained the workings of a rice mill...interesting that if a part breaks, they have to make a new one or they might lose thier Historical status

My grandson asked me sometime ago about Rice and how it was produced. I took him to visit Konriko Rice Mill in New Iberia and he came away from there with a better understanding of rice growing and production. Great experience for my grandson !

We enjoyed the tour of the mill. The guide knew the history and could answer our questions. The movie was also very good. The store had a lot of fun and interesting items for own use and gifts.

Stop by and take the tour of the oldest operating rice mill in the United States. Then, stop in this store for free samples and some specialty products you won't find in the supermarket.

I visited on July 22nd and was the only one on the tour. It was short and sweet and I learned quite a bit about rice. Who knew? The store is fun -- tons of souvenirs to sift through as well as samples of their...More

This was a short visit, but worth the stop. There's not a lot flash/bang here, but if you want your families to learn and understand the way real food is processed, there is a lot of information. The video giving a little history of the...More

Learned a lot about the history of the area as well as how rice got started as a commodity item. The old mill has been in operation since 1912 and is still growing strong today. The store has lots of food and seasoning selections as...More

After we toured the rice mill, we went into the store to do some shopping. I love creole seasoning, so I bought some of the store's version of creole seasoning. It was wonderful. I also bought some Cajun sauce that you can only buy in...More
