Historical Tour

Learned a lot about the area and Creole history. It was a nice walk to the fort, transportation is provided for those who cannot walk that far.

I enjoyed this very much! They have a museum and a very good DVD presentation on the history of the Fort and local people of the area. They have a reconstruction of the original fort made from blueprints found in France. Awesome, and they have people dressed in period clothing explaining things. It was a beautiful day, when I went,... More

It's a self guided tour with a booklet they give you. The price is really affordable, especially since I was doing a Stay-cation. the Lady at the front Desk was very friendly and pleasant. It's not a far walk to the Fort. There are small area's on the way that were for show. maybe during the year they have a... More

Following the old El Camino Real NHT, we stopped there expecting just a small museum and were VERY impressed. The reconstruction of the original site and the costumed period guides make for a truly interested experience.... we learned so much! Wonderful day out for the entire family.

The Fort is near historic downtown and an nice way to spend the afternoon. We paid $4 each for 2 adult tickets. The entrance building has many exhibits and the staff was very helpful - along with clean restrooms, always a plus! The grounds is well-maintained and outside the summer months, it was an enjoyable walk. The Fort reconstruction was... More

Gates were closed on a Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 pm; not very inviting. We had been hoping to finally see the fort, but not this time.
