The shops are located on Front street and a few cross streets (church st and denis st). They are very cute. We saw that there were 33 blocks of shopping so were a little confused with only the small amount of shops. Its riverfront and...More

Nice area to walk and walk explore. A lot of shops have gone out and restaurants are going in. Everything pretty much closes up around 5:00 everyday except the eating places.

A truly must-visit little town. Great shopping and restaurants along the river. Just park and take a stroll. You can stroll along the river as well.

Great shopping. So friendly store owners. Cane River Candy, Soapery, shopped at an art gallery - co-op, but can not remember name. Bought a painting. Brighton's shop - great owner, who also owns the kayake peddle boat place across the street, chocolate covered strawberries, t-shirts,...More

This is the town and the reason to be in Natchitoches (Nak-a-tish). Great fun for a day. Don't plan on visiting on Sunday. It's shuttered!

Enjoyed browsing stores, most looked very locally owned and run. Shopkeepers were very friendly and helpful. There are a few galleries with interesting local art, several cooking stores and restaurants and bars. Easy walking , street parking. Good for a few hours entertainment

Shopping in the historic district along the banks of the Cane is really nice. Great shops and a real family atmosphere. We highly recommend a trip here.

I was so looking forward to shopping in the historic district, having researched that Natchitoches was considered one of the best small southern towns. However the chamber of commerce should work with local retailers and restaurants to encourage Sunday hours. Most businesses and restaurants were...More

Restaurants are open. Such as for brunch. I recommend Mama's. Some of the shops open after lunch time.
