Shopping Natchitoches on Saturday after Thanksgiving! The Craft Show in the Convention Center always has delightful vendors with intriguing products. Samples of pecans, wine, jellies, bread pudding, cakes make choosing gifts for family and friends a delight. Then continue to the hardware store ( you always needs something!) and the shops on Front Street, Saint Denis Street finishing with lunch... More

It is an excellent place to window shop, however if you want to buy something, there are only a few stores that are affordable. Most things are overpriced.

My granddaughter and I wanted a quick get away so we opted to drive to Nachitoches, the oldest town in Louisiana. We loved walking down by the river and seeing all the fall decor. We were too early for the lighting of the Christmas lights but it was still beautiful. All the people were so nice and welcoming. We found... More

There is a wide variety of shops. I purchased some really unique and special gifts for Christmas. The shop owners are friendly - a great place to shop

Walking up and down the Historic District Shopping area in Natchitoches, La. is nostalgic for old timers and a what it was like more malls experience for the young. The hardware store where you get a hand written receipt is a welcome break from the computer age, and the Cane River Kitchenware is a must place to browse and buy... More

We visited in this charming town in fall and I loved how it had been decorated with chrysanthemums, pumpkins, scarecrows, and bales of hay. You could spend a day visiting interesting shops run by friendly and helpful folks,. When you get tired, there are beautiful iron benches along the way to sit and plan where to shop next or just... Can't visit Natchitoches without shopping the unique gift shops. Cane River Kitchenware has the best coffee and seasonings.

Found an antique shop that we love to go to called Tres Bien Antiques. And we always have to go to Cane River Kitchenware.

Went over the weekend with friends and happened to be there for the Meat Pie Festival. The historic shopping district was nice and many stores had lovely fall decor. Stopped in several shops during our 3 day visit. Like others have said, the stores do not stay open late, so if you see something you like, buy it! The shop... More
