This is a really nice little stop with clean bathrooms and tons of info. The people were friendly but not overly so. They have all the tourist brochures you will ever need and tons of kitschy Cajun art...like alligators and such. I wish I had taken pictures of that. They also have a neat area back behind with a walkway... More

So glad you stopped by. Yes - the gators are in there. They are just very small. They are not even a year old yet! Come back soon. Happy Travels. More

A nice center with decent information about the surrounding areas. There's a small gator pond outside that's fun for the kids to see.

Staff was very helpful, especial recommending steamboat bills restaurant for lunch. Enjoy sitting a while on the deck with our coffee and taking the million dollar view of Lake Charles. Tons of information to be had here. Check out the gift shop for some local items you can't find anywhere else. (Some are pricey!) Observe the alligator in the lobby. There are more like him all around Lake Charles & they are so much fun to find! Just a short walk away is the alligator park on the beach. Free... More

Thanks for the great review. We are glad you visited. Glad you stopped by the alligator park too. The alligators that are living there now are fairly new. They'll be full grown before we know it. You'll just have to visit again to check on their progress. More

The Lake Charles Visitor Center offers a good deal of information for traveling in Louisiana, and activities and points of interest in Lake Charles and the surrounding area. It was clean, the bathrooms were especially clean, had water fountains and the people working there were very courteous, friendly and helpful.

The staff was very helpful. He asked what we were interested in seeing while in the area, then he proceeded to give us excellent recommendations. I highly recommend you stop here if you are wanting to find the treasures in the area. There is a fenced in area beside the visitor center that housed some alligators, and it is right... More
