Taking a shower at this Campground was a pain in the elbow (which I used to press the button for water). THE SHOWER WATER RUNS FOR EXACTLY 15 SECONDS. Let me break down that math real quick. I need at least 20 minutes to shower...More

I've visited Sam Houston my entire life. We took field trips during elementary school, my family visited for the day, we frequently launched our boat. I've stayed in the campground and in the cabins. I've spent a lot of time here and I can wholeheartedly...More

Brought our grandkids camping and had my granddaughters birthday party. We had a wonderful time. Park was clean and kids had a ball playing games, taking the nature walks, and playing at the park.

We had a nice time at Sam Houston Jones State Park. We took a walk along the river. I also liked the trees in the area. It is a very scenic place to visit and so relaxing to visit.

We tried to enjoy a fun weekend with one of my dear friends and help him celebrate his 50th birthday. However, the Ranger kept harassing us every 15 to 20 mins saying we were too loud and bothering the other campers. We asked the other...More

I leave only about 2 miles from the park, but I still enjoy going there to see the ducks and the deer. The deer used to be in a pen, but now they graze freely. People bring their campers and stay there and it is...More

Beautiful Setting along the river. Campsites are in need of attention. Sadly the park closed over half the sites. Limited number of the rest are full hook up. There is a dump station near, restroom and showers were clean.

If you want to walk and picnic on the banks of a river this is the spot. Lots of trails and roads to bike and hike. Scenery is rustic with swampy areas and a lazy river too. Not on the beaten path but now far...More

I would rank this higher as it really is a pretty park, but the lack of trail maps made us get a little lost. Otherwise, it has several nice and easy hikes.

What a great place to camp, hike or just enjoy being in the outdoors. Went for a hike (actually it was more like a walk) with my son and daughter-in-law.

The park is very nice. There are places to park camping trailers, they have cabins to rent, there is a boat launch, and a bridge over a pond. The deer are free in the park and you can feed them. They are no longer in a... More
