Visited this great shop while passing through Grosse Tete just off Route 10. This shop had the most amazing and largest inventory of Louisiana gifts and souvenirs I have ever found. The clerks there were very friendly and helpful with sales and any questions we had about the area. This shop had something for everyone young and old.

While traveling to Houston, TX, my family and I found this shop by accident. I had a blast talking to the owner who gave us GREAT information about local restaurants to eat Alligator at! They have lots of neat treasures and things that are special to this great area of Louisiana! Definitely look forward to stopping again to see what... More

We had been wanting to get something a little more unusual for our friends back home as souvenirs from this wonderful country. This little shop somewhere between Louisiana and Texas has a sizeable and "interresting" collection. Bought some locally themed memorabilia, and also some petrol/automobile signs. Thank you swamp shop!

Found this shop in our Louisiana Tour guide! Am i ever glad we found it. It is a very well organized and neat shop. The sales associate was very friendly - - true southern hospitality. As for souvenirs, you do not need another place. Being from NE, we did some Christmas shopping. This is a spot NOT to miss. They... More

I am a native of Louisiana and was actually born in Gross Tete. I always recommend to anyone traveling in the deep south to visit the off the beaten paths of the more commen tourist sights. It is a great experience if you love the old days of tea and lemonaide on the lawn under a great old oak tree,... More

Great place. A lot of neat gifts and souvenirs. Literally think I saw something that everyone will like. Stop in if you have the chance. We stopped but weren't expecting the shop to be open due to it being sunday, but they were.

Here's the thing, this place is tres extraordinaire because it is so very touristy and tacky. I really mean no offense. This was someone's house and it has all these bizarre little Louisiana chotchkies in every room. We stopped here last year on our move to Texas. My husband and I just started wanering around, making ourselves at home when... More

We luckily saw the shop's sign from I-10 so we stopped in to change drivers on our way through Louisiana. So glad we did! The shop owner was very friendly and showed us around her large store. Great selection of LA favorites as well as home goods, apparel, jewelry, specialty soaps and other souvenirs. Conveniently located across from the LA... More

Visited the Swamp Shop on April 22nd to attend the Cajan Jam. It was a perfect atmosphere. The unique items in the store were all Louisiana - the staff was friendly and very accommodating. The owner was there and made a point to personally visit with everyone. She was so appreciative with the turn out for the jam session. We... More
