About
We are a truly traditional country ale house, set in the beautiful Luddesdowne Valley. First opened in 1713, we are a pub in the true sense of the word based around good beer, a convivial atmosphere and friendly conversation. Free from children, piped muzak and gaming machines, we have replaced them with an adult environment, conversation and traditional pub games - Bar Billiards, Crib, Dominoes, Darts, Shove Ha'penny, Shut the box - are all here for your enjoyment. If you are unsure how to play there is always someone here to help you. We don't have Wi-Fi and mobile phones are not encouraged. A pub built in the 1700's was never built wth catering to todays expectations in mind. Space limitations and meagre facilities mean we will never be a restaurant or "Gastropub". For this reason we do not offer formal catering nor a menu, However Hot Cornish Pasties and Sausage rolls are available freshly baked Friday to Sunday from Midday to 9pm alongside a range of traditional bar snacks.

Fantastic service

The staff at the Cock have responded extremely well to the latest restrictions. You are made to feel very welcome, and the bar staff are very observant, checking when you need another round. Well done to all.

no children!

A great pub for a real country atmosphere and some good beers. Last time I visited they were not doing food but worth a check. One definite No-No is children in the pub. There is a good size garden and covered area.

Great Traditional Country Pub

Set down a country lane in the heart of Kent this traditional pub is well worth a visit no matter what the weather is doing.

Ample gardens, log fires inside and some great drinks and food on offer.

A rarity

The Cock Inn has, for many years, been a truly excellent pub. The selection of beers on offer is superb and all are reasonably priced. For my most recent visit I had a great pint of Adnams Broadside, which is a really cracking beer. For me, what really makes this pub stand out is the cosiness of the lower bar, with is adorned by a whole plethora of nick nacks to keep you interested whilst you warm yourself next to the open fire. I've never counted the beer mats stuck to the ceiling, but there must be thousands of them in the pub! In the summer months, the beer garden is a really relaxing place to sit and eat lunch and listen to the birds. There is even a sheltered seating area which is heated for those occasionally nippy summer evenings. The staff at the pub are friendly and always make me feel welcome. I have only eaten rarely at this pub, but the food is very reasonably priced and tasty enough. Definitely worth a visit!

Cracking little Gem!
Visited this pub with my wife whilst out with my wife, I've past this pub before and always fancied popping in.
We weren't disappointed! Being 6ft 4" and having to duck as you enter a beautiful wooden beamed bar with open fire place, it's what a traditional village pub should be, great rang of bears from around the world, friendly staff and a large clean well kept garden. Will definitely be going back.

Traditional English Pub
Called in for just a drink on a Saturday afternoon. There is a large car park opposite the pub with what appeared to be extra parking in a field off the car park so no parking problems. Inside the pub unlike so many modern pubs they still have two bars and outside there is lots of seating. The staff were very friendly and there was a good range of beers, ciders etc, etc. Did not eat on this occasion but will certainly give it a try another time.
