The title, La Poussiere, translates "The Dust". Apparently it may have had many years ago a dirt floor. But not today, as one will find a perfect dance floor with many Cajun music dancers circling the floor. Annual Mardi Gras Ball takes place the Friday before Mardi Gras.

The last of the real Cajun Dancehalls! The dancefloor is perfection. The music always great. The drinks are cheap, and the people are welcoming and wonderful!

What a fun evening, as newcomers to Cajun dancing trying to figure out the moves in the company of 150 people who'd been doing it (in some cases, probably every Saturday night) for all of their lives but were benignly tolerant of out-of-towners.

Went here on a Sat. night. Arrived about 30mins after it opened. Parking is tight but we found one of the last few places in a neighboring business which was closed at the time. $10 cover per person to get in but beer is relatively cheap. My husband and I are mid 40's and we were the youngest ones in... More

It's a small place in Breaux Bridge that's been there for 60 years. Still run by the same family. I don't know how, but it gets the best bands cajun music has to offer. Cheap drinks, nice people.

A genuine Cajun dance hall, one of a kind in the shrinking pool of places like it. Just go! Great music always & you can meet & talk to the friendly Cajun regulars or the regular out-of-owners who frequent La Poussière when they're in town. You won't be disappointed.

Could not believe we got to not only kick up our heels, but that we got to do so to the Pine Leaf Boys! Great dance floor, friendly locals, good and inexpensive drinks, chairs, and close up views to the stage. And all of this for no cover. This was the most fun I have had in a long time.... More

Six of us stopped here on a Sunday afternoon as it was very close to Au Bayou Teche Bed and Breakfast where we were all staying. There was a $10 pp cover charge but it was well worth it. They have Cajun music every Sunday afternoon. We all had a great time dancing and talking to the friendly local people.

This was the highlight of our trip. Great music and how much fun can a person have? There were all ages here and everybody dances. No food but they have a bar. There was a $10 cover charge and it was some of the best money I have spent in a long time. Don't miss it!

If you like to dance and enjoy an authentic experience, this is the place to be. It doesn't get any more real than this. An experience to be remembered for a lifetime. Even if you don't dance, you will enjoy the music and spectating. Oh, just in case you didn't know, la poussiere means "the dust" in French. It refers... More
