    Rainy Day
A rainy but gorgeous day after derby. Gorgeous grounds. Tasting of senses was nice but felt a bit rushed at 30 mins. Visited cocktail bar however not really cocktail bar just trailer with 3 $17 drinks. Grounds were beautiful and historical.

    Bourbon Tasting experience
Are you curious about bourbon? The tasting was an enjoyable experience to learn a bit about the process of making different bourbons and then being able to sample multiple varieties. We really enjoyed the tasting experience and wish that we had more time so that we could have toured the actual distillery.

This tour was very interesting since this is one of the oldest bourbon makers, so you get to see the original buildings and how they still use wooden vats. I felt the group was too big, but it all worked out. It is a walking tour and they do have a golf cart to help those who cannot walk. Of course , the tasting was fun and the gift shop well stocked. Enjoy.

Great tour in a historic distillery on beautiful grounds.
So many good things to say about this place. Beautiful grounds, very nice new gift shop and tasting room. Our tour guide was very fun and also very informative. But the highlight of the experience is definitely the tour, and particularly the stills. Six beautiful copper stills in an old distillery. You get to see several different stages of the distilling process, as well as some of the old warehouses where they still store some of the casks. And then the free tasting with three bourbons, one mini cocktail and a bourbon ball chocolate. What's not to love?

    Great Tour & Tasting
Had a great time. Our guide Jeremy was very informative and fun and we had great weather for the tour. The tastings at the end are always nice. This was the only one I’ve been on that gave me chocolate. The drive out to the distillery was past thoroughbred farms and made for a beautiful drive and the distillery is a beautiful area.

Best distillery on KY Bourbon Trail
Unfortunately, we couldn't get a tour, but we did get to do a tasting. Kathy, our tasting host, was knowledgeable and entertaining. The bourbons we sampled were pretty good. We went across the street for some cocktails, and we enjoyed them. Most likely the best distillery on the Bourbon Trail.

    Informational and concise.
Beautiful place! Good information was given too. It was a pretty steep hill going down, but I think they can help people with that. The history was fascinating. There was about 15-20 people in the group. The tour guide spoke loudly and inside he/she had microphones. The tasting was good as well. There was no time for chit chat or people joking around. The tour must go on. Pay attention.

    A wonderfully relaxing experience
Because of the many days of rain in TN during our roadtrip, we had to cancel our tour, but did enjoy the cocktail bar and gift shop. The drive to the distillery is gorgeous. The manicured fields and horses was breathtaking . The gift shop offers a variety of bourbons, accessories, food stuffs, and shirts. The fireplace is the perfect place to snap a picture with friends. The cocktail lounge across the street was sophisticated and serene. We ordered and enjoyed the porch swing and the double-oaked old fashioned in rocking chairs. on the lawn.

Great tour... great bourbon... need better apparel
Great history on grounds and good tour. Good job 👍🏻 Beth (guide). Great tasting and love the Double Oaked. Would have loved if the gift shop had better apparel, but got some good gifts.

We arrived 45 minutes early for our 3:00 pm Path to Flavor tour. So, we parked at the tasting room/shop and looked around for a bit, before walking to the tour building, which is across the road. We checked in and waited. While there is a very nice waiting area in the tour building, that is all that is there...no information, nothing really to look at while you wait. The tour left promptly at 3:00 with Tony as our tour guide. We boarded a limousine bus and were taken to the facility. Loved going inside of 3 areas. Great information from Tony about the history of the site and the WR distilling process. Easy to understand him as he used a microphone. Time allowed to walk around the designated areas, take pictures, ask questions. Only got to look quickly in through a screen door at the bottling room - it would have been nice to have a better view of that process. Tour was about 45 minutes with some stairs. We were then bussed back to the tasting room, where we had 5 tastings, plus a bourbon ball. Overall, a nice tour. And, the horse farms surrounding the facility are nice to see, too.

This was a very nice distillery tour, it’s so interesting to learn about the different stages of making bourbon. The history is also fascinating.

You get to see every step of the process. As it ages, the corn mash that eventually ferments into bourbon bubbles away in huge barrels, giving off heat and a heady aroma. I glanced outside & saw how the new barrels (aided by gravity) roll unassisted down the track to the station where they are filled.

The tasting was informative, and accompanied by a tasty piece of bourbon candy, yum!

Don’t waste your time. We spent 2 hours driving there only to be told “we’re all booked up on tours”. LAME, not sure why tours need to booked 3 months in advance.

Not what it used to be. Did this tour right before the pandemic and it was more personal and authentically a craft experience. This time around, the rote tour was delivered formulaically with emphasis on “are we having fun yet!?” and a contrived twang. Tastings used to be in the rick house, but now are in a large conference room off the gift shop.

We had a great time on the Discovery Tour. Our guide I think his name as Cain, was entertaining and knowledgeable. Fun tour with tasting at the end of 5 different bourbon and whiskey. The best looking grounds I’ve seen as far as distilleries go.

We did the Mixology Class - 5 different Old Fashioned recipes each with a different Woodford Whiskey and special bitters. Small group. Our bartenders were fun and just really cool. Learnt a lot about mixing an Old Fashioned. If we can come back, we will do a grounds/distillery tour. Highly recommend the Mixology Class.

Visited Woodford on our second stop of our bourbon trail. I came on this trip as the DD as I had never liked the taste of any bourbons or whiskey and never had any desire for them. I left Woodford with a different attitude about bourbon. The drive to Woodford is picturesque. The visitor area, gift shop and lounge is comfortable and inviting. We arrived a bit early for our tour and one of the guides offered to take our picture in front of the warm fireplace and asked about our tour. He said we could probably get the earlier one with him. He was correct and we were added to Jamie’s 3pm tour. As far as distillery tours, they are all pretty much the same after being on 7 of them in 3 days. Most tell you abcs of bourbon, the history of the place, show you boiling corn, a copper pot, pipes and how bottles are filled with liquid gold. I learned about white oak staves and I know all about level 4 charr and bourbon fungus. But it’s the guide and the tasting that make the difference and make them unique and memorable. Jamie is an excellent guide used his knowledge of the place and its bourbon with humor and charm and turned me on to bourbon and made me think about bourbon and its wonderful flavor and depth. We left the tasting and went across the road to the bar had the most delicious Old Fashioned with Double Oak Woodford, chocolate bitters, maple syrup and a grapefruit twist and sat outside on the Adirondack chairs and enjoyed the scenery, quiet and watching the horses. I would recommend Woodford bourbon and a tour with Jamie.

The tours fill up quickly. We booked to late (3 days in advance) to get the 70 min walking tour and had the shorter tasting tour instead. Enjoyed that on too. Even my wife who is not a whiskey person.
