Owners Neil and Rachel bought a beautiful 30 acre farm near Versailles, Kentucky in Woodford County in 1997 and began planting grapes, berries, apples, and peaches in 1998. They named the farm Wildside Farm because of the wild sunflowers and coneflowers that grew in abundance. In addition, the name fit because the farm was initially certified organic until they learned that a minimum of amount of pesticides was needed to keep the fruits healthy. They still use minimal pesticides. Each year they planted more grapes until today they have 5 acres of grapes, two acres of fruit trees and 1.5 acres of berries.Welcome to Wildside Winery your winery near Lexington Kentucky, the airport, and Keeneland racetrack! A short list of the interesting wines are our new Bourbon barrel red wine made with Cabernet, peach mead, fresh strawberry, hard cider, and many other delicious wines. As we approached the Lexington area ahead of schedule we Googled things to do to kill some time. What a wonderful surprise we found at Wildside. The staff was very helpful, the price of a wine flight very reasonable, outside seating was delightful after 4 hours in the car. Best surprise of all was the wine. After an hour of... More

We visited this winery for the first time. It was a bit different from wineries we have been to in the past. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Wines were very good. There was a nice option of adding cheese which we did. Tasting itself was inexpensive and you could choose to purchase extras like glass, cheese etc. Short... More

What a beautify spot for an intimate wedding (less than 200). The grape arbors made for great 1st look pictures. There is SO much space to have an amazing event! The decks, patio shelter, lawn, gazebo - everything was beautiful! Our daughter said it was her dream wedding! Thank you for making it easy to help plan this remotely from... More

Stopped in here as we were doing the Bourbon trail as something for my wife since she doesn't like Bourbon. Nice winery and tasting room. Good selection of wines and most were very tasty. I was particularly impressed with the "Black Barrel Reserve". VERY NICE! Staff was very nice and pleasant. Prices were decent as well. As I said, the... More

The wines are pretty good with quite a variety of types. Sweet to dry. My favorite is the Wild Quartet. BBR and Chardonell are good too, but I like dry wines. They also have some sweet and fruity wines of some non-typical flavors, including paw paw and black walnut. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Had a great time at the Wildside. Very friendly service and great format for tastings. A wide variety of wines including some made with Kentucky grapes and one wine aged in Bourbon barrels.

A nice surprise on our visit to the area. The wine tasting was a good value, and allowed us to take the differences in the various wines we selected. Three of the 6 were very good, with is a very high percentage in my opinion. We definitely brought bottles back with us.

A pleasant and knowledgeable young man conducted our wine tasting today at the Wildside Winery. They have traditional reds and whites as well as other fruit wines. The tastings and wines are very reasonably priced. You can choose 1 oz pours of 6 wines for $3 or 2 oz pours of 6 wines for $6. Most bottles of wine were... More
