We stopped here randomly since the Mammoth Cave tours were not leaving for another couple hours. I am glad we did! Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic! Fair price, and extra cool tour explaining the science, and history of the caves, and other caves around.

After being disappointed at a sold out Mammoth Cave we drove 5 minutes away to Diamond Caverns and found what we were looking for. I had 5 teens with me and I wanted them to experience a really cool cave. The tour included lots of steps up and down, narrow passages, dripping water and many amazing formations. Just what we... We drove right past the first time, thinking it was just a museum/gift shop. Tour was very nice (3 levels and about 350 stairs). People in our tour group commented on how much prettier it was than Mammoth Caves. Lovely gift shop.

We traveled to Cave City from Ohio for a long weekend. After reading others' reviews, the first thing on my agenda was Diamond Caverns. Tour sizes are smaller than Mammoth Caves, which I liked. We had 19 people on ours. The path through the cave feels fairly wide open. There was one tight squeeze that they literally call "between a... More

This is truly a beautiful cavern, somewhat different from some of those in Mammoth Cave. The tour was not strenuous and lasted about 45-60 min, as I recall. The price was quite high and the guide could have been more of a story teller, but if you're looking for a cave experience beyond Mammoth, this is one worth considering.

Loved our Diamond tour. Great group size and wonderful tour guide! We made lots of stops throughout the tour which allowed you the ability to photograph some amazing shots! Lots of history and beautiful formations that you don't see on the Mammoth Tour. I'm ready to go back again. We did get a coupon at a kiosk at mammoth that... More

This is a great tour if you have small children or do not want to do a strenuous tour. The hardest part of the tour were steep stairs but they have a hand rail to help you along the way. The tour lasted about an hour so be sure to use the rest room before you go. The paths were... More

I actually visited quite along time back and would love to return again it was so amazing to see all the formations in such a well constructed and tour guided cave.

While not as large as Mammoth Cave, Diamond Caverns is much more interactive and "alive"--lots and lots of living formations. The guides are excellent and you are able to view pretty much every kind of cave formation there is--stalactites, stalagmites (a few of them even cut open so you get to see the inside!), cave popcorn, cave "bacon", pillars, cave... Really enjoyed our tour guide, Natalie. She was knowledgeable and super friendly. We completed the tour with a 9 and 12 year old. There were steep stairs and narrow passages but totally doable. Be sure to wear good shoes as this is a live, wet cave and some of the walkways are slippery. My only complaint was the cost. I... More
