The tour guide was brilliant- sadly I don't remember his name. He was an archeologist and his English was perfect. He gave a very informative tour. The site itself is very well kept and has been visited and approved by the last three popes, and...More

This was a moving historical site, only marred somewhat by the guide's brisk pace. Our guidebook had said that if you brought a car you could get a personal guide and drive around at your own pace, but that wasn't the case. Instead, we had...More

The baptism site at Al Maghtas, runs a shuttle bus that takes you around the various places of interest. You can even hope into the Jordan River and have your own private baptism if you so desire.

Tour guide gave great history of the place. Lots of people getting baptised. Got to touch the water and take some home in a bottle. Very good place to visit

Hello, is it possible to be baptised there? And if so what is the procedure and is there a Priest there on site? Many thanks. Tom, London, England.

Hi Tom, When I was there in May the guide at the site suggested that to me for my kids. I would have to pay something like 15JD for each in order to purchase a t-shirt from the church for this occasion and get them... More
