Cool bridge with pretty views. I have visited it a lot with friends when they come. There isn't much h to do but to walk across the bridge though. There is also a small park nearby for children.

We had family visiting from out of town, and this 2 mile walk and play area was the perfect spot for an afternoon in view of the Louisville skyline. Multiple benches and info plaques along the walk, restrooms on both sides, and treats in walking...More

WALKING THE BIG FOUR BRIDGE Birds galore in the foreground. Background is the subdued noise of traffic. As I write in my notebook with an uneven hand, a dark-skinned guy with headphones passes me. “That’s what I call multi-tasking,” he says. A woman comes from...More

The city of Louisville has done a great job of creating outdoor spaces encoraging us all to get out in nature and move. This bridge is one of many. We walked from the Kentucky side to the Indiana side. Once there we were hungry and...More

Visited during a non busy time. Not a lot of people out but a few here and there. One bonus is a restroom stop on the Indiana side.

We loved this adventure. The bridge is beautiful. The riverfront on both sides of the Ohio is beautiful. We walked from Louisville to Jeffersonville, ate dinner and walked back. There is plenty of parking, the walk is not strenuous, and we liked that no pets...More

All summer long young gangs have been prowling the Louisville side of the bridge. Police are not visible in the area which makes it even worse. I’ve seen families leave the area because they’ve been intimated and older couples forced to pay young punks to...More

We walk the whole bridge and stopped at a little frozen yogurt shop in Jeffersonville. Hearing the water was so calming. However, I suggest if you are a couple go at night when the bridges are lit.

It took about 2 hours to walk there from my hotel, walk across to the Jeffersonville Indiana side, and do a quick walk through the little strip of stores before walking back across. My fitbit registered 5 miles round trip. But it was a relaxing...More

The big four bridge is always been an iconic part of the Louisville landscape but until only recently it was off-limits to pedestrians. The walking bridge is a great little trip over the Ohio whether you're walking or riding a bike. Lots of traffic. Also...More

You park at the base of the ramp to walk up to the bridge. It is absolutely free.

Service animals are, but not pets. Unfortunate for me, because I live close by and my dog loves the bridge. Pets were allowed when the bridge first opened, with pet stations along the way. Unfortunately some pet owners... More
