Went to the zoo to avoid crowds and see the eclipse. Really enjoyed the property, very well maintained, excellent staff. Not crowded but enjoyable to share the eclipse with other zoo goers.

Very lucky that I grew up with the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Ne. So a lot of zoo disappointed compared to that zoo. But Louisville zoo was a very pleasant surprise. We have gone 3 times in the last two years and very happy...More

This is a beautifully kept zoo. The animals looked healthy and well taken care of. The grounds were neat and tended to. There were other attractions, a small water park, a train, several animal shows. This is a nice way to spend several hours.

While I'm biased, living in Louisville, I believe our zoo is top-rate! A great variety of animals, lots of interesting exhibits, and a number of special features (playgrounds, statues, dining options, holiday exhibits, etc.). The location is great, too, right off the Watterson Expressway. If...More

We enjoy visiting various zoos along our Adventure paths. We used to hit up the Louisville zoo frequently on our way to my parents house, but haven't been back in several years due to their moving down south. We were in for a treat! The...More

Louisville has one of the best zoo's around. Very clean. Friendly people. A lot of great shows. The exhibits are attractive and interesting. My grandkids love it!

I really enjoyed this zoo, as it had many of the animals you would expect, and plenty of shady places to enjoy in the middle of the August heat. Our tickets were 1/2 off for some reason, but are typically $30 + $5 for parking.

The bird show had a Bateluer eagle which is my second favorite eagle behind the Harpy eagle! Really cool seeing mane wolves. The outdoor gorilla exhibit seemed like it was just a large but boring space until I saw a gorilla able to climb a...More

Might not be the biggest or fanciest zoo, but we had a great afternoon at the zoo. We were a group of 11 - 8 adults from mid-twenties to 60+ and 3 kiddos ages 3, 6, and 8. We were surprised how active the animals...More

If you only have 2 hours - I would suggest a different attraction - the zoo will cost 2 adults about $40-50 entry fee and parking - and it will take you 2 hours just to walk all the trails in the zoo without stopping to look... More
