Strolling up and down "Saint James Court" and "Belgravia Court" in Old Louisville is always a refreshing treat for those interested in Victorian Architecture. They "boast" of having the largest collection of Victorian Homes in the country (who knows). Each home and garden is unique and fronts a center "court" with fountain. You might be lucky enough to be in... More

In this neighborhood you really feel the history. It is great to walk or driver around. The architecture is beautiful and preserved.

Wow--I had no idea this neighborhood even existed....one of the most beautifully maintained, and incredibly large architectural showplaces I've ever seen--and as a rabid architecture/history fan, that's saying something. Gorgeous blend of nearly 1,300 (!!!) homes (and churches) from around 1885-1910. Incredible! Louisville needs to do more to promote this national treasure.

We had asked some people in Louisville about Old Louisville and they essentially told us "not to go, that its not a great area and nothing to see". We had some time, and took a drive there anyway the next day. The area was not bad, the houses on a few streets were beautiful, and it is around their Central... More

We spent some time walking all around the St. James area. Absolutely beautiful old homes and yards. A pleasant and interesting area to spend some time just observing. Parking could be a problem, but there usually spots available adjacent to the area.

Just walking around was a treat. It's rare in any city that you see so many examples of older architectures in one place. It didn't take long to make the circle of the street in front of the Conrad-Caldwell house, and as a free activity, it's totally worth doing if you like unique architectures.

On Saint James Court, in historical old Louisville there is an art fair (SAINT JAMES ART FAIR) and it has arts and crafts from all over the country,it is an awesome experience for enjoying the restored homes that have history and stories that are shared by some of the homeowner and quite often a few historians visiting there at the... These houses are an architectural lovers dream! Just walk around this area and enjoy. The street lights are real working gas lights. The fountain is beautiful. The houses are just make you drool. We were lucky to be on a tour and fortunate to be able to enter some of them

Took our Michigan friends to see this area, they were duly impressed! The fact that people have chosen to live in and maintain these beautiful homes is great!
