The more rugged of the Louisville parks, Iroquois Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, has plenty of forested hillsides and scenic vistas for those willing to walk the extra mile.

The park has a Golf Course and a walking trail. They also have an Amphitheater that have live music in the summer. It's not too far from the University and Churchill Downes. The neighborhood is a little iffy, so you may want to go with...More

I walked up to lookout point as the drive way was closed on the day I went. Quite a long walk, over 3 miles in total I believe. Peaceful, beautiful. I wish the drive would have been open as I wasn't prepared for that length...More

Grew up in the southside of Louisville...and just recently re-visited the area. Lots has changed, but Iroquois Park always a favorite! Beautiful park, with golf, horseback riding, outdoor festivals, amphitheatre, cycling/running access and breath-taking views of the city from the overlook.

I grew up in this area and remember when the tornado went through taking out several of the oldest, largest trees. The park improvements since my last visit make the park even more beautiful.

I would plan for a 2 1/2 to 3 hour time span. The traffic can be a major setback on time. If you don't mind walking a ways, I would say to park close by and walk. Just be sure to use the crosswalks as New Cut can be a very... More
