We took a wonderful tour of Churchill Downs on a day that there were no races. Very interesting insight into the history of the Downs along with what happens on race day. I watch the Kentucky Derby on TV every year and this visit will change how I view it from now on! Great pairing with the museum...do them both!

The Derby system highlights the history of this impressive facility. The video and tour are a "not to miss" for all ages! The neighborhood around the facility is a bit rough and locals suggested, not walking to the place.

Visited Churchill Downs just after racing was over for the season, so it was a good time to take a tour. It was a facility that I have seen many times on Derby Day, but looked better in person.

The Thanksgiving buffet had TWO healthy choices this year!! YEAH! Most choices (traditional Tgiving foods) are too heavy on salt. Friends and family for a total of 14 plus a toddler were there this year. We go for the experience more than the food. They did a good job this year of keeping the buffet well stocked. Busy day for... More

At least once in your life you should go to the track, and if you do - Churchill Downs should be the one. The history, the grandeur, the thoroughbreds amaze.

Great to see, but once there you have to like horse racing. Food was a disappointment. Equal to what you would find at a carnival.

Churchill downs was everything I expected it to be and more. The facility is gorgeous. Betting on horses was fun and easy thanks to help from the kind staff members. We watched a few races back to back, sitting right at the finish line. It was so neat to see horses run at the same track that the Kentucky Derby... More

Was in town on vacation and decided to stop in and had the best time slot for the walking tour. We were able to see the horses and watch a race. Beautiful animals! The movie before the tour was phenomenal!!

Mark this one off the bucket list. Although we weren't there for the derby, it was still worth going. The racing is still exciting, although the view of the backstretch is obscured if you are close to the track level.

Purchased tickets for Thanksgiving at Churchill downs. We had fun spending the day at the races. We were in the Stakes room- great views, food, and wonderful service by Jan! She is a longtime employee and obviously enjoys being there and makes the customer feel special. We appreciated the atmosphere and the flexibility to move from the stakes room to... More
