If you're only going to take one distillery tour in KY bourbon country I'd recommend this one. Great setting, informative, fun. Extensive tasting at the end with instruction. I was a bourbon novice and learned how to taste properly without judgement. Good food and bar on site too. You can even dip your own bottle in wax if you purchase... More

Worth the drive, ways off of The Interstate but the view getting there was hilly, curvy and scenic. Very well organized and our guide was very pleasant. Ending with a tasting of 5 different varieties. You can even hand dip your own bottle.

This was the best tour and visit out of Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Heavens Hill and Barton 1792. The campus is breathtaking. The visitors center is a beautiful old home. The tour was very comprehensive and made me like the brand more. You get to taste 5 different types which was super cool and informative. They also give you a... More

If your near Bardstown, KY, head a little south to Makers Mark. A gorgeous setting down in a valley. Even if you don't partake in the consumption of their fine bourbon, it is worth your time to go thru the tour and see this distillery. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. And if you do happen to purchase a... More

Well-worth the $12 tour and visit. The reception building is decorated beautifully. The campus was absolutely gorgeous and was reminiscent of Jack Daniels. I loved the red shutters with the bottle outline on all the buildings. I really appreciated the tasting portion of the tour. We all had 5 glasses on a long table while our tour guide explained each... More

Our tour guide was fantastic, allowing us to taste bourbon in many different stages. The grounds were out of the way and beautiful. If you buy a bottle you can put the red wax on yourself. One of the better tours on the bourbon trail.

Beautiful grounds off the beaten track are the first noteworthy comments. Visitors can roam the old mansion with all its old antiques. The tour was $12 for just over an hour. Tour guide Ryan is a taster at Maker's Mark and also terrific with information and managing our group. He was very personable and his forte was in teaching us... More

I can't believe how great this day was, the weather was perfect too. Free event, 5th year they've done it. We paid for the private select class, $10 per person. everything else was basically free. there must have been 20 food trucks. Maker's gave you a food ticket which equaled $4 credit to any food truck. they also gave you... More

Maker's Mark is our favorite bourbon, so we booked our Beyond The Mark specialty tour well in advance. The tour was well worth the price. We were tasting throughout the process, were up close to the production and walking among the distillery workers. Tasted six different bourbons. The grounds were really beautiful and the buildings were very well maintained. We... More

Interesting historic buildings in a lovely setting. Good tour guide (Jason? Justin? -- young British fellow.) You get to touch and taste the bubbling mash, see the massive copper distillers, watch the old manual die-cut label printers, and see where it is aged and bottled. Efficient and pleasant tasting room, with the five samples already set up at each seat.... More
