The Makers Mark Distillery is situated on acres and acres of beautiful rolling countryside in the bourbon capital of the US, the state of Kentucky. We arrived too late for the last tour of the afternoon, but walked around the beautifully landscaped facility. The many buildings are decorated in identical color schemes based around their famous product, Makers Mark Bourbon,... More

Visited several distilleries on the trail and I must say Maker's Mark is the top distillery in Kentucky, as far as I am concerned. I was impressed with the guide and the great stories of the distillery.

Bring your ID! Stopped here on a whim, the guide was fantastic! Pleasant and informative. Learned the difference between whiskey and bourbon. A lot of walking but not strenuous. The tasting at the end was interesting but I've discovered I don't like bourbon, even the shuttle driver was informative and nice, over all a wonderful experience

What a great stop this was along the Bourbon Trail. Marker's Mark has set the bar for beautiful locations. There is so much to see and experience here. One thing I liked was buying a bottle of Maker's Mark, and dipping it into the hot red wax myself. So cool! Not sure I will open that bottle up. May save... More

Overall---my favorite distillery overall. The Grounds, buildings, & Rickhouses are an absolute sight to see! Absolutely lovely!! The tour was great--good selection for the Tasting, hand dipped my own bottle of Makers at the end of the tour and we had a fabulous lunch there----BBQ plate with Bourbon slushy!! A Definite do on the Bourbon trail---it will not disappoint!

We were looking for a location to make the most of a beautiful Sunday in May; we chose Maker's Mark. We ate lunch at the Provisions House on-site. The Benedictine Sandwich was our family favorite. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunny warm weather. After lunch we look took an approximately one hour tour. It is always fun to learn... More

Our first time ever on a bourbon tour. Since we were there for Derby, thought why not check out this place. Well organized, knowledgeable tour guide, and ended with the tasting of 5 different samples. Landscaping of this place is ideal for photography. I would recommend this tour highly.

We were in nearby Loretto visiting the Loretto Motherhouse. And we went to Maker's Mark. The tour was informative. The tasting of the intermediate stages as well as the finished products was interesting. Probably would have been better if you liked bourbon as much as my friend did. :-). Who knew a bottle dipped in red wax was their symbol.... More

After so many distillery tours, it becomes difficult to recall what makes a tour one that you'll repeat or not. In comparison to other tours, I'm neutral on the Maker's Mark tour, and here's why: 1-Setting of Maker's Mark=decent countryside, but the surrounding area is not as beautiful as Woodford Reserve or Wild Turkey's settings 2-Grounds=Beautiful! Manicured lawns, blooming red... More

This tour was awesome, and the grounds are just incredible. It's literally in the middle of nowhere. We were pretty sure we were lost when out of the blue we saw the "campus" that Makers Mark sits on. Our tour guide was Haley, she was nice, perky, and knew a lot about Maker's and it's history. There are tons of... More
