Nice Selection for a Small Museum

They have a good amount of art here and it's easy to find and easy to navigate the inside. We enjoyed it, but it's not an all-day museum. Just an hour or so.

The museum is part of the University of Kentucky with a very nice collection on exhibit for all taste. There is also a nice gift shop and parking is easy.

I just attended a memorial service here for a great, local Lexington artist! Very well done. The new Director is so nice and has done a superb job with the museum since coming on board. I believe his name is Stewart.

We often stop by to view the collection and appreciate new exhibits. Parking is a problem now however due to so much construction around campus. If you are interested check the website for special events or curator tours. The permanent collection is excellent and there are usually changes in displays that make a repeat visit worthwhile.

OK for a small museum, could use more displays in my opinion, but still OK if you are just walking by

This museum, tucked into the back of a performance hall, has interesting art, some lovely outdoor sculptures and a serious attitude problem. Hard to find with minimal signage, unhelpful labels-why is this art, why should I look at it? and a guest services staff that is more interested in their own cell phones than guests, and happy to admit that... We loved this little campus museum and found it was well-curated with nice contemporary work as well as a great set of works by art stars such as Andy Warhol, Milton Avery, and John Singer Sergeant. It is the kind of museum that you can visit in less than an hour and soak it all in. Oh, there is a... More

This small art gallery is short on parking, but long on sweetness. Staff are friendly and anxious to help. The exhibits are mostly modern, contemporary art. Housed within the Singletary Center for the Arts building, it does have its own exterior entrance as well. Accepts NARM reciprocal membership.

The website stated that visitor parking was available behind the building. I arrived 3-5 minutes before opening time (Noon) and no parking to be had - parking on that campus is terrible, period. Not worth the search for other parking.

A small but interesting art museum at the University. There were two travelling photo exhibits when I visited, with some powerful pieces, and the permanent collection spans a variety of genres and media. Photography without flash is permitted. There's a small gift shop as well. Very enjoyable!
