Beautiful scenery. Water levels low in August and September. But still had a great time. No major whitewater so even beginners like us can enjoy the trip . Tried to upload photos.

Known for its smallmouth bass fishing and route through the heart of the Bluegrass horse country, both North and South Elkhorn are a delight to canoeists and kayakers.

The Elkhorn is a hidden gem. It's great for fishing, and lovely to go wading. Finding public access can be difficult but is defiantly worth the wait. If your going fishing then you can expect Small Mouth bass, Rock Bass, Brim, Channel Cat, and Crawfish.

Awesome way to spend the day. Wading the creek for some small mouth enjoying the scenery. There are several public access points to park and walk in. Soft crawls seem to work the best.
