Well marked cemetery
Jun 2021
We primarily went to see the grave of Daniel Boone. We downloaded the map of the cemetery and along with that and the good signage in the cemetery were able to easily find what we were interested in. It is a lovely place with beautiful monuments.

Beautiful and historic.

It’s a beautiful and historic cemetery with a hillside view of the Kentucky state capital. While you are there stop to pay your respects to Rebecca and Daniel Boone who are buried up upon the hill. If you don’t know who they were then you were asleep during history class. Although lovely in the summer it’s absolutely beautiful in the spring and fall if you have the chance to visit. It’s a very short drive from downtown and especially the military museum.

Gorgeous views at sunset
Jun 2021
We stopped here after dinner and caught the golden light of sunset for our tour of the grounds. We came to pay respects to Daniel Boone, and we were enchanted with the views of the capital building on the river against the pink light. Took a relaxing stroll through the rolling hills of this historic treasure. A wonderful stop for any history lover.

Beautiful, historic cemetery

I enjoy stopping to look at old cemeteries. This one is beautiful with a gorgeous overlook. There’s so many untold stories in a cemetery. So much history! This particular cemetery also holds Daniel Boone’s gravesite.

May 2021
The path to Daniel Boones grave is well marked with the most beautiful view. Daniel is an indirect cousin of mine.

Memorial to the unborn.
Apr 2021
We stopped to see Daniel Boone's Grave, but found something else much better. Below Daniel Boone's Grave is a memorial to the unborn. This is a nice quite place to think about all the children lost due to still births, miscarriage and abortion.

Beautiful Views & Historic Graves
Dec 2020
My wife and I made the trip from Lexington up to Frankfort specifically to see Daniel Boone's alleged grave (Missouri claims that we stole the wrong body when we exhumed him from there back in the 1850's). We wound up spending hours at the site though looking at the historic graves of governors, soldiers, and many more.

Perched on a hill overlooking the Kentucky river, and the state capitol building, this cemetery offers breathtaking views, history lessons, and lots of gravestones that are truly works of art.

Picturesque and historic.
Nov 2020 • Couples
Most folks probably know that Daniel Boone is buried here. Yet there are a number of important people buried here as well including some veterans of the Mexican War. It’s a picturesque cemetery with stunning views of the city and the state capitol building from the hill. There are also a couple of ginkgo trees that are truly colorful during the fall. It’s not a large cemetery but certainly worth a short drive from downtown Frankfort.
