This is the most authentic and amazing zoo I have ever visited. You really feel you are amongst the animals. A really wonderful experience that can't be missed. I would advise you to choose a relatively dry day as there is little cover.

We visited Zoo de Guyane during a recent family holiday to visit relatives in Cayenne. After a rather tedious queuing process to gain entry to the zoo, culminating in a card payment system that didn't work, we enjoyed our visit, which gave us a great overview of the local wildlife - from anacondas to jaguars and all things in between.... set in the forest, exotic birds(parrits, eagles, harpies, reptiles (caimons, snakes) and mammals ( jaguars, ant eaters, monkeys)indigeneous to the Amazon area. Not the miss : the howling monkeys. Walks leading through the forest and suspended bridge on branches leading through the trees.A wonderful experience.

The zoo is locate really at the border of the jungle and shows animals typical of French Guyana. The animals are very well kept and you can actually walked on a path in the real jungle, and you could also see the jungle by walking on a series of cord bridges. Get information on which time and which day animals... More

the weather was lovely this very morning, few clouds after a rainy night and a bright but supportable sun... many species can be seen or discovered there and the fact to see running iguanas here and there was quite thrilling. Of course a zoo means animals in cages and for some birds like eagles or other birds of prey this... More

Because a lot of mammals do not need to be around tourists, with 9/10th of forests covering this land, we decided to observe the whole local fauna in the zoo. This zoo offers a very natural environment to animals, some animals (monkeys, birds) are also visitors. There is a few suspended bridges in the trees which allow you to observe... More

I'm not usually so interested in Zoos, but had a fab day here. It's only a small zoo, but took a good 2 hours to visit. There's a wide variety of animals; the monkeys and snakes being the popular attractions. The zoo previously tried a 'go-ape' (ropes bridges, swings, high lines) experience, which didn't work out (i.e. make enough money).... More

Either if you like animals or the green djungle. This zoo is worth a visit. It is not a metropolitan zoo, but shows regional animals; What I really loved, have been the walking zone above the bush. Without any risk to wander on 2nd floor of the djungle was fascinating. At the end, I also saw the monkeys, I heard... More

The zoo is about 45 minutes outside of Cayenne and you can easily spend 1-3 hours here depending on how much you like to wander. There is even a zip-line course in the middle of the facility if you want to have a little extra fun. Very family-friendly place. The facilities are in excellent condition and the path is paved...
