This was a very interesting tour. A lot of information about a relatively small railway in the early days of Kentucky and Tennessee. Included a complete tour of the train including dining car and kitchen and how the meals were prepared daily. There was a very, very good operating model train setup with 100s of feet of track and multiple... More

For some of us who rode trains decades ago as a means of transportation (rather than vacationing by train), this museum provides a nice window into the L & N operation years back. For me, it was particularly nostalgic, as I regularly rode the Pan American and Hummingbird trains. The collection itself is a bit distinctive if not deteriorating, and... More

We did this museum and tour as a supplement to a book we read for home school. The tour guide was so friendly and very informative. It is amazing what they did with trains at the time and getting that peek in history was interesting. I love when history is preserved. Our children range from 12 to 4 and they... More

Make sure you show up when they are doing tours or else you can't go inside the rail cars. Not for children under 10 in my opinion. A bust.

This is small museum. The day we were there, they were not able to offer the actual railcar tour, but gave us reduced admission to compensate. The museum was interesting, and adequate for the reduced price.

We would definitely recommend this fine museum to anyone of any age. It was exceptionally informative and amazing to walk through the rail cars that built our history.

This museum had a lot of layouts in it as well as other neat information about the Steam railroads and the change to diesel locomotives. This could be a whole day stop for any rail fan or anyone interested in how we got around before Eisenhower started building the Interstate highway system.

My husband is a train "nut" so anytime we travel I try to find a train for him to explore. Usually the train has involved a trip. . .however, with this train it does not have motors in the engine so it is a walking tour through several cars. It was interesting to me, not a train "nut", and my... More

This is a great little museum, particularly, the guided train tour. This was our highlight. Our guide was so informative and knowledgeable. It was grand to learn of the inner workings of the old Pullman trains, the sleepers, the diners and the coaches. The inside exhibits include a model train layout, with interactive buttons to work the trains and items.... More

Nice tour and guide on our visit there October 3, 2016. Reasonably priced with senior discounts available. Museum and miniature trains running were interesting and not rushed. The train your was nostalgic and well presented. Glad we went.
