We have been camping at Lake Scott for years. It is a wonderful place that defies all that is around it. Judging by the farm and pasture land as you approach, you wouldn't think Scott State Park is possible. You can use the full hook-up areas or dry camp in any number of spots. Generally, we use the hook-ups. The... More

We stopped here overnight in a 32ft. 5th wheel. It was a little out of the way, but well worth the side trip. It seems to be a well kept secret of the folks in Scott City, so getting a reservation in advance would help. We had a full hook up site in the state park, so don't expect wifi.... More

Beautiful lake surrounded by bluffs and hundreds of cottonwood trees just beginning to turn golden. What a perfect time to visit. Hike, camp, fish, enjoy the outdoors. Some southwestern Puebloan history here, too. There are ruins within the park called El Quartolejo; the most northeastern Puebloan ruins known at this time. I'd take a few days. One is not enough... Beautiful, small spring fed lake just north of Scott City. The camping areas are set down in a canyon you would never guess are here if you stay up on highway 83. Stayed two nights in the park. You can drive all the way around the lake. Good for biking and walking.

The area is beautiful! It's very clean and well maintained. My future mother in law has been to parks all of Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas and this one is her favorite. There is something for everyone, especially if you like to hunt, fish, swim, hike, bike, photograph, RV'ing, kayak, canoe, camp, horseback ride! It only costs five dollars a day... More

This is the one spot in Southwest Kansas that always has water in it, feed by a natural spring. The park service keeps it clean, lots of camping spots as well as fishing spots. There is hiking also all around the park. Great for a weekend trip.

Very clean, camping and RV facilities. Pretty little fishing, swimming lake. Surrounded by hills. A few hiking trails. This made a nice break in our trip from Oklahoma to Colorado.

A hidden treasure amongst the bluffs that enclose this beautiful, natural haven! Its like stepping into a foreign land after driving past miles of flat fields, to this hidden oasis. If you havent seen it, make the time! P.S.The season change has made the tree's colors very vibrant as a perfect autumn backdrop to any photo!

We were looking for a half-way point to spend the night between Ouray, CO and Kansas City, MO. We found it in this remote state park near Scott City. Then we saw on-line that it was rated by Natonal Geo as one of the best state parks in the country. Had to check it out. You're driving through typical Kansas... More

Its the great outdoors in western Kansas. Gets pretty busy sometimes on weekends. Remember sunscreen.
